Do you have a certain song that when you hear it you are immediately taken back to a time and place? You know that song that you don’t have to think about it you automatically go there. Hopefully, to a good memory and if not please turn the song off!

My Song is: Do You Believe in Love by; Huey Lewis and the news. Every time I hear it I am 14 again on the track outside the school doing the lap(s) that Miss Baird is making us do that day. We would dress up in those hideous gym suits. Most had purchased the boys’ uniform because it was less nightmarish than the girls. They were awful. And here we were all 30 + of us going around the track. Walking of course because we were given the choice. Only Amy B. would run it and then she would chat with the gym teacher. Amy B. is a teacher now, as a matter of fact, she is the athletic director at her school. She must have known exactly what she wanted to be back then.

All we knew is that we didn’t want to run and get sweaty and maybe not look cute in front of the boys. So we would walk around the track and the boys gym class was outside too. We would wave and grin like a bunch goofballs at each other. One specific boy would say “hi” to me almost everyday and then one day this song was playing on the radio, “Do you believe in love” by Huey Lewis and the News and he is singing along and hands me some wildflowers. Cute, huh? I never went out with the boy, I don’t think we ever had a conversation to be honest. But whenever I hear that song I am 14 again on the track in the sunshine. Thank you Tim.
