Here it is confession of self care mishap! Check out those nails and I promise the other hand is just as bad. I’ve been going to get my nails manicured every three weeks, I get them French because it lasts one week longer than color and I am frugal. It’s one of my self-care things, the thing that I do just for me. I like my hands to look nice and I’m going on interviews so it helps my look to be pulled together. With my luck I’ll probably get the Big Daddy of all interviews next week with these claws.
No matter, because I am going fix these puppies. My mom has beautiful nails. (I did not get that DNA) She sits down once a weeks and does her own manicure and her hands always look lovely. A lady said once, “if those are real I’m going to kill myself”…. we miss her. LOL Because of Mom’s example I do know how to fix them without going to the salon – because remember I am frugal! I will clip, use the emery board, buff, apply nail hardener because you know I damaged them when I peeled them off. Why did I do that?!?!? When the nail harder dries; lotion, lotion and more lotion. It is January, in Chicagoland those are some beat up cuticles, its cold outside and I am horrible about not wearing my gloves.
Obviously self care is a work in progress, you have to make time for it. I do still laugh all the time. (Among other things for self-care) And honestly, I don’t know I didn’t take the time to go get my nails done. I didn’t make it a priority and isn’t that what self-care is about? Setting aside time to take care of the one who takes care of everyone else. The world will not end because I didn’t do this, my b.p. wont go up nor will my health be affected I just didn’t think that it would be fair to talk about self-care not to share this with you all. Because tomorrow is another day. I am doing other things for self care which I will talk about next week. I also thought this was kind of goofy and thought I would share because I promised we would do this journey together and we will. Hopefully this will give you a few nail tips, and a laugh to start your weekend.
